Join us for a hands-on micro:bit coding series designed specifically for homeschool families! This is a multi-week program with limited space. Registration is required for this event.

Through interactive lessons, participants will learn to create animations, games, and more while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Recommended for ages 8+
  • No prior experience is needed
  • All materials are provided (laptop, micro:bit)
  • We will use Microsoft’s free MakeCode web based coding platform
  • A Microsoft or Google account is needed to save work (but not required for our sessions)
  • Activities will satisfy many goals of NJSLS 8.1 Computer Science, Algorithms & Programming

When registering: To ensure all participants have access to both materials and support, please be sure to include each active participant when registering.

Attendance: For best results, participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions. Participants who attend all three sessions will have a chance to win their own micro:bit!

About the branch

The Richard D. Gardner Branch (HQ) is located in Belvidere off of Rte. 519. The branch features two public meeting rooms, two study rooms, and a local history/genealogy room.
