When you enter the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, it is hard to imagine that you are only about 75 miles west of New York City and about 65 miles from Philadelphia to the south, for there is natural beauty, scenery and many natural and cultural attractions that await you in this park.
The DWGNRA is an area rich in flora and fauna, including white-tailed deer, raccoon, black bear, cottontail rabbits and many of the other species that call the Appalachian highlands their home. It is a park to visit in all seasons. Winter provides peace and solitude, spring is wildflower season & re-birth, summer provides endless outdoor activities and autumn brings on the fall colors.
This lecture will provide a great over view of the DWNRA so that your next visit to the park might be even more enjoyable.
The Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch is located in Blairstown on Lambert Rd. off of Rte. 94. The branch offers a children’s area, public computers, and a large public meeting room.
