When people think of libraries and their books, they may imagine silence and fines for lost, damaged, or overdue copies.
When it comes to the writing found in old books, however, they often tell a story of what mattered most to their early owners. Prof. em. Timothy J. Wengert, a retired professor of Reformation history, uses his wide collection of sixteenth-century imprints to teach how they were preserved, who owned them, and what they thought was important in them. If you've never examined really old books, come and gain renewed appreciation for these artifacts and their history. Please register everyone in your group who will be attending.
