Teen Speak equips caregivers and youth-serving professionals with the tools and confidence to have open, effective conversations with teens about some of the toughest topics they face today.

By registering, you are signing up for both online sessions, October 5th and November 2nd.  

Summary of Topics Session 1
-The importance of parent/caregiver influence on teen decision-making
-Aspects of adolescent development
-Understanding risky behaviors and the foundations of motivational interviewing 
-Motivational Interviewing Techniques such as using open-ended questions and affirmations/strengths-based communication approaches

Summary of Topics Session 2
-Using reflections to better understand youth through active listening
-Understanding why teens resist and strategies for managing the resistance
-Eliciting change talk to help teens develop behavior change-making plans
-Real-life practice scenarios
