December's poets include Jim Gould and Lois Marie Harrod.
Jim Gould was raised in rural Hunterdon County New Jersey, which is still the inspiration for much of his poetry. His work has been published in The Stillwater Review, The Princeton Review of Summer Fiction and the Black River Journal, among others. He is the author of four previous full length books of poetry. He currently lives in the small central Jersey town of Gladstone.
Lois Marie Harrod’s l9th collection of poetry, The Bed the Size of a Small Country, appeared September, 2025. Spat was published in May, 2021, and her 17th collection Woman was published February, 2020. Nightmares of the Minor Poet appeared in June, 2016 Oaks; her chapbook And She Took the Heart appeared in January, 2016; Fragments from the Biography of Nemesis and the chapbook How Marlene Mae Longs for Truth appeared in 2013, Dodge poet, life-long educator and writer, she is published in literary journals and online.
The Northeast Branch is located on Rte. 46 in Independence Twp., close to downtown Hackettstown. The branch features a meeting room, public computers, and quiet reading areas.
