Meeting RoomFeel the rhythm and connect with your community at our community drum circle!
Drumming offers the opportunity to come together as a community in a fun and interactive way. Drum circles facilitate a state of deep relaxation, joy and a sense of well-being.
In addition to learning rhythms, participants will develop tools to encourage social interaction.
No prior experience is needed to attend. This program gets you started with all the basics necessary to play and participate in community drum circles and will strengthen the skill level for those familiar with drumming.
We will give members an overview of the core concepts including:
• How to position and hold the drum• Notes, practice rhythms and traditional African rhythms
• Call and response, developing listening skills• Rhythmic games• Much more!
Space is limited, and only those registered are guaranteed a spot in the circle. If a family, please register everyone participating. This program is open to adults, teens, and anyone age 6 and up. If you have your own drum, please bring it! If not, a drum will be provided.
