This program will explore the life-saving impact of organ donation and highlight the profound difference it can make for individuals waiting for transplants. The talk will discuss the process of organ donation, from the moment of decision to the complex procedures involved in matching donors with recipients. Attendees will learn about the myths and facts surrounding organ donation, the role of donation registries, and how one organ donor can save up to eight lives.
NJ Sharing Network, based in New Providence, NJ, is a nonprofit organ procurement organization whose mission is to save and enhance lives through organ and tissue donation. They operate 24/7/365 to recover and place donated organs and tissue, support donor families, honor the legacy of those who gave the gift of life, and raise awareness about the power of organ donation and transplantation.
